Sophia Wojnovich
My practice focuses on materiality, performance, sex and sexuality, semiotics, fetishism, and power. Through design, I explore desire, overwhelming scale, voyeurism, and erotica. The objects I make take nods from sexual tropes, toys and furniture, and performance objects. Biography
Sophia Wojnovich is a fine crafts artist. She was born in Upstate New York and currently resides in Detroit, Michigan. She is currently pursuing an MFA in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Wojnovich has her BFA in Furniture Design from Rochester Institute of Technology. With a background in traditional craft, Wojnovich designs and creates works that live in both the furniture, performance, and sculptural worlds.
